Nuremberg, the capital of Franconia with a very eventful history: a mighty center of European trade and commerce during the Middle Ages, a focus scene of the "Third Reich" and nowadays a vivid city. Come to see the mighty Imperial Castle (Kaiserburg), residence of the Emperors oft he Holy Roman Empire oft he German Nation. The House of Albrecht Dürer, the most famous son of the city and one of “the greatest European artists”. The Old City Hall. The main market square, site of the famous Christkindl’s market. The beautiful fountain, the church of St. Lorenz, the Church of Our Lady with the „Running Men“ clockwork, the Crafts Yard and so much more. And, during a rest in between you should certainly taste the famous Nuremberg fried sausages and Gingerbread. We will continue out journey to the best-preserved medieval town in Germany - Rothenburg ob der Tauber high above the Tauber River Valley on the Romantic Road. We will go for a sightseeing walk through the picturesque old lanes and the castle gardens: See St. Jacobs Church with the wood carved altar by Tilman Riemenschneider. Marvel at half-timbered houses, city gates and the mighty Renaissance Town Hall. In your leisure time visit the fascinating Medieval Crime Museum, Doll and Toy museum, German Christmas Museum and many more. Rothenburg also offers great souvenir-shopping opportunities: Buy carvings, wine glasses, Christmastree ornaments, beer steins and even cuckoo clocks. At many lovely restaurants you can enjoy a traditional German meal, but don’t forget to try a “Schneeball” (snowball) a local fried dough ball with many different toppings.
